neon aztec

A pair of reupholstered pub stools, borne from the desire to weave directly onto an object instead of on a loom. The old stools were stripped of their previous coverings, sanded and prepped, before weaving and securing the strong polyester yarn with a crochet hook. Particularly interesting is the juxtaposition of the recognisably traditional wooden design against the bright, bold fabric. The patterns were inspired by geometric Aztec and Mayan motifs commonly found on fabrics from that part of the world.
