DNA

A design inspired by the woven fabrics of Sierra Leone, including its construction of identical strips of seperately woven material which are then hand-stitched together, allowing the naturally offset patterns to create a visual that calls to mind the genetic sequencing tests performed on DNA.

These two ideas combine to suggest a reference to (and questions of) biology and time, a nod to early humanity's African origins, and how far we have come as a species.
